Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 6.29.26

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to purchases made through The Animal Behavior Center, including Drop-In Classes, online courses, memberships, consultations, replays, downloadable materials, and related services. By purchasing or registering for any product or service from The Animal Behavior Center, you agree to this policy. Please review this policy before completing your purchase.

1. General Policy
The Animal Behavior Center provides digital education, live online learning, private consultations, memberships, replays, and downloadable materials. Because many of our products and services include immediate access to digital content, reserved live-session time, limited replay access, or downloadable materials, refunds are limited. Refunds are not guaranteed unless specifically stated on the sales page, required by law, or approved by The Animal Behavior Center.

2. Drop-In Classes
Drop-In Classes are live, topic-specific online classes. Unless otherwise stated, Drop-In Classes may include:
•A live class session
•Live Q&A
•Limited replay access when offered
•Downloadable or supplemental materials when included

Drop-In Class refund and cancellation terms:
•Refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class.
•Cancellation requests made less than 48 hours before the class are not eligible for a refund.
•No-shows are not eligible for a refund.
•If replay access is included, missing the live class does not qualify for a refund.
•If you register for the wrong class by mistake, contact us as soon as possible. We may transfer your registration to another available class at our discretion.
•Once the live class has started, or replay/material access has been provided, the purchase is non-refundable.

3. Replay Access
Some live classes, courses, or events may include replay access. Replay access terms:
•Replay access may be limited by time.
•Replay access is for the registered participant only.
•Replay links may not be shared, copied, downloaded, reposted, or distributed.
•Failure to watch a replay during the access period does not qualify for a refund.
•Technical issues on the participant’s side, including internet problems, device issues, email filtering, or failure to locate the replay email, do not automatically qualify for a refund.

4. Online Courses
Online courses may include video lessons, handouts, worksheets, exercises, discussion opportunities, recordings, and other digital materials.

Online course refund terms:
•Online courses are non-refundable once access has been granted, unless otherwise stated on the specific course sales page.
•Accessing course content, downloading materials, viewing lessons, or entering the course platform confirms use of the product.
•Failure to complete a course does not qualify for a refund.
•Lack of participation does not qualify for a refund.
•Change of schedule, change of interest, or inability to make time for the course does not qualify for a refund.

5. Digital Downloads and Free or Paid Resources
Digital products and downloadable materials may include worksheets, handouts, guides, PDFs, training materials, and related resources.

Digital download terms:
•Digital downloads are non-refundable once access has been provided.
•Download links may not be shared, copied, sold, reposted, or distributed.
•If a file link is broken or a download does not work, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to restore access or provide the file.

6. Memberships
The Animal Behavior Center may offer memberships that include educational content, live sessions, recordings, Q&A opportunities, community participation, training reviews, or related member benefits.

Membership refund and cancellation terms:
•Membership payments are non-refundable once access has been granted, unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
•Annual memberships are non-refundable after purchase.
•Monthly memberships, if offered, may be canceled before the next billing date to avoid future charges.
•Canceling a membership stops future billing. It does not automatically refund previous payments.
•No prorated refunds are provided for unused time, missed sessions, missed Q&As, unread content, or lack of participation.
•It is the member’s responsibility to use the content, attend sessions, watch replays, and participate during the active membership period.
•Membership benefits, schedules, content, and live-session availability may change over time.

7. Recurring Payments and Payment Plans
Some memberships, courses, or services may be offered with recurring billing or payment plans.

Recurring payment and payment plan terms:
•By selecting a recurring payment or payment plan, you authorize The Animal Behavior Center or its payment processor to charge your payment method according to the schedule shown at checkout.
•Payment plans are a commitment to the full purchase price, not a month-to-month membership unless clearly stated.
•Canceling access does not automatically cancel remaining payments on a payment plan.
•Failed payments may result in suspended access.
•Access may be removed until overdue payments are resolved.
•If your payment method changes, expires, or fails, you are responsible for updating your billing information.

8. Private Consultations
Private consultations reserve time on Lara Joseph’s schedule and may include preparation, review of information, live Zoom time, scheduled time reserved specifically for you, recommendations, notes, recordings, or follow-up materials depending on the service purchased.

Consultation cancellation and rescheduling terms:
•Consultation cancellations or reschedule requests must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment.
•Requests made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment are not eligible for a refund.
•No-shows are not eligible for a refund.
•Arriving more than 10 minutes late may be treated as a no-show.
•One reschedule may be allowed at our discretion when requested at least 48 hours in advance.
•If you do not provide requested information, videos, history, or forms before the consultation, the consultation may still proceed based on the information available. •Failure to provide complete information does not qualify for a refund.
•Once a consultation has taken place, the consultation fee is non-refundable.

9. Group, Team, and Organizational Services
Group, team, and organizational services may include team consultations, staff training, organizational memberships, workshops, live instruction, recordings, or custom educational support.

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise:
•Deposits or payments used to reserve dates are non-refundable.
•Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be made in writing.
•Short-notice cancellations may result in forfeited fees.
•Custom preparation, planning, review, or created materials are non-refundable once work has begun.
•Travel-related costs, if applicable, are handled according to the written agreement for that service.

10. Live Events, Workshops, and Special Sessions

Live events, workshops, guest sessions, member events, or special educational sessions may have specific refund terms listed on the registration page.

If no separate refund terms are listed:
•Refund requests must be made at least 7 days before the event.
•Requests made less than 7 days before the event are not eligible for a refund.
•No-shows are not eligible for a refund.
•If replay access is provided, missing the live event does not qualify for a refund.
•Event access is for the registered participant only and may not be shared.

11. If The Animal Behavior Center Cancels or Reschedules

If The Animal Behavior Center cancels a paid live class, event, or consultation, we will provide one of the following options:
•Reschedule the service
•Transfer your registration to another available session
•Provide a credit
•Provide a refund when appropriate

If a session is rescheduled and you cannot attend the new time, contact us promptly so we can review available options.

12. Technical Problems

Participants are responsible for having the technology needed to access online classes, courses, consultations, memberships, and digital materials.

This includes:
•Reliable internet access
•A working device
•Current browser or software access
•Access to email
•Zoom or other required platform access when applicable
•Ability to check spam, junk, promotions, or filtered email folders

Refunds are not provided for technical issues caused by the participant’s device, internet connection, email settings, spam filtering, browser, software, or failure to follow access instructions. If the issue is caused by our platform, file, link, or system, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to restore access or provide an appropriate solution.

13. Duplicate Purchases or Billing Errors

If you believe you were charged in error or made a duplicate purchase, contact us as soon as possible.

Approved duplicate-charge refunds may be issued when we can confirm:
•The same person purchased the same product twice by mistake
•A billing error occurred
•A payment was processed incorrectly

Refunds for duplicate purchases or billing errors are reviewed case by case.

14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you have a concern about a purchase, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us first may result in:
•Suspension of account access
•Removal from courses, memberships, or communities
•Loss of replay or material access
•Ineligibility for future purchases or services

We reserve the right to provide purchase records, access logs, policy terms, registration details, and communication history to payment processors or financial institutions in response to disputes.

15. Access Sharing and Misuse

Purchases, registrations, replays, downloads, courses, memberships, and consultation materials are for the purchaser or registered participant only, unless a team or organizational license has been purchased.

Refunds will not be provided if access is removed because of:
•Sharing login information
•Sharing Zoom links
•Sharing replay links
•Downloading or distributing materials without permission
•Copying or reposting content
•Violating community guidelines
•Violating the Terms of Use
•Misusing The Animal Behavior Center’s intellectual property

16. Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that emergencies happen. The Animal Behavior Center may review exceptional circumstances case by case. Approval of a refund, credit, transfer, or reschedule in one situation does not guarantee the same outcome in another situation. Any exception granted is at the sole discretion of The Animal Behavior Center.
